This statue could never be done today with public money or by any major corporation — it does not fit in with the oligarchs’ genocidal agenda: The family is White and the artist is celebrating the divinity of natural, normal sexuality.
The fall of the family is the fall of the civilization, of the folk and of all the traditions.
if i had a month i couldn’t unpack everything that’s laughably wrong about these comments but i just wanted to share this with my followers since it’s actually one of the stupidest posts i’ve ever seen on tumblr.

Let me tell you what is happening in this picture, because you’d think the pope is just blessing a random believer. But no.
This picture was actually taken the day before yesterday and the Pope is blessing Rebecca Kadaga.
Rebecca Kadaga is a politician from Uganda. She promised to pass a anti-gay bill, also known and internationally condamned as ‘Kill The Gays’, which would punish homosexuality with death penalty. She’d like it to be a ‘Christmas present’ to her country. You can sign the petitions against the bill here and here. But things got loud today, after the pope said that gay marriage “consists in an offense against human nature, a deep wound inflicted to justice and peace.”
This resulted in the very first collective reaction from Italians against the homophobia and pure, blinded hate spread by the church.
At the moment we’re trending #vergognasulpapa (shame on the pope) on Twitter and it is already the 4th top trend of the country. They tell us Italy is a secular state, but it never acts like one.
Many people are really sick and tired, but just as many follow the church’s ‘example’.Last month, Andrea, a 15 year old from Rome killed himself because bullies at school were making his life a living hell because they thought he was gay.
The Vatican website ‘pontifex’ (same name the pope uses for his Twitter account) wrote an article and suggested that Andrea ‘should have been cured’.We still don’t even have a law against homophobia.
Please, join us! Use your own voice, spread the news, make a post, tweet #vergognasulpapa or write it in your own language…whatever you do, just don’t let this go unnoticed. One of the many reasons I’m no longer a Catholic.
…
Dafuq, Pope. Dafuq.

In case you were wondering where all the Facebook friends from your hometown were yesterday.

“Asking for “mutual tolerance” on this like running up to a bully beating a kid to death on the playground and scolding them both for not getting along. This is Richard Hayne, President and CEO of Urban Outfitters. He’s also a supporter of Rick Santorum and donated over $13,000 to him. He’s against gay marriage and abortion.
His company pulled a pro-gay shirt back in 08, they also blatantly ripped off an Etsy designers work, featured a t-shirt for women that said “eat less” and most recently had a card with a “tranny” slur on in.
Why do you shop at this store? I imagine because you weren’t aware of these facts. Now you are, so stop shopping there.Wow, yuck.

Um, just because Watson is a woman, doesn’t necessarily equate to overt romantic tension, nor have I seen anything on tumblr from an official source suggesting there will BE romantic tension (I could be wrong, I’m not an active participant in the Sherlock fandom and I’ve only seen this pop up on my dash a few times). HOWEVER, one of the most irksome things for me about Sherlock is the lack of strong female characters who do not have to at some point in the series basically depend on a man/endure the humiliation of being defeated by a man/serve as a plot device. Say what you will about Irene Adler, the Sherlock series took the only woman to ever canonically outwit Sherlock Holmes and made it so that she was in turn outwitted by Sherlock, then later forced to depend on him to save her life in a jam she got into. The closest thing Sherlock has to a strong female character is Molly, who is only strong in the context that she is able to forgive Sherlock for his multiple gaffes and be there FOR HIM when he needs her. I’m not about to write off having a female Watson as a bad thing- Watson’s always been an assistant to Holmes, but also very much an independent and strong character, and just the fact that HE might be a SHE doesn’t mean that she’ll definitively just be Holmes’s throwaway love interest. I don’t view Holmes as sexual or romantic though, which might affect my judgement, and I admit I may not know all the details, but come on guys, either don’t watch it if it upsets you or, if you intend to watch it, give it a -chance-.
