Some rather vanilla shots of the Sherlock puppet. It is hard to mess with strings, take pictures in low light without a tripod, and have an an annoying cat hover into view/sit in your lap/yowl at you.
idk why those two pics won’t upload
THIS IS AMAZING

/SCREECH
This is hands down one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen.

if i had a dollar for every time a sherlockian misdiagnosed themselves as a “high-functioning sociopath” i could also pay for college twice
-
so i tried watching “sherlock” and like
why is joan watson a guy???
like ew i don’t get it?? why would they turn her into a guy
and a white guy at that
like, i have nothing against men but they can’t have good relationships with each other
and i don’t have anything against white people, i have white friends, but it’s not attractive……… martin freeman isn’t attractive….. he looks like a dog………
Are you serious????! The original Watson in the ACD stories was a man named John Watson. CBS screwed up when they made John into a woman (which they have done before, unfortunately). And I hate to break it to you, but Aurthur Conan Doyle was British, hence, the reason why they (Sherlock and Watson) are of Anglo-saxon descend. And as for your statement, ” men can’t have good relationships with each other,” its quite baffling. Men can and DO have good relationships with each other-it doesn’t have to involve romance at all. Guess friendship among men is rare.
And instead of judging Martin Freeman solely on his acting skills, you choose to judge him based on his appearances-very demeaning of you to do so.
oh my fucking god

man the fact that elementary is actually a pretty well written and decent show with good characterization and representation just makes me even more pissed off about all the snide comments moffat and gatiss have made about “damaging the brand”
When it was first announced, like everyone else, I was worried making Watson a woman was just a reason to give Sherlock more damsels to rescue, as if Moffat didn’t already give him enough? So I was really pleasantly surprised with the show and it’s sort of stolen my heart away~
It helps that Lucy Liu continuously nails it as Watson.
dude she not only takes less shit than all moffat’s women combined (adler included she was a “feminist” trainwreck), she takes way less shit than the men in sherlock, too. i’m really loving how elementary still makes holmes kind of an asshole and then acknowledges that okay he’s brilliant, but he can’t get away with that shit, because sherlock doesn’t do that -nearly- enough and it’s partly why that show has such a terrible track record with female characters.
ugh I know she’s just so great. I haven’t even watched all the episodes for this season and I’m already in love.
But don’t even get me started on Sherlock’s writing as a whole. I’ll just sit here all day. I mean, it’s one of the shows that made me terrified to write my female characters. “omg what if I’m doing it that badly?”
yeah, i was just talking to one of my friends about this over AIM, but having a main character in a crime drama who’s female and asian but doesn’t get the “strong female character” treatment OR the “special asian episode” treatment really chokes me up because i have a lot of self loathing about my asian heritage and it’s partially from the lack of relatable characters in the media i was exposed to as a kid. i’m half asian and i was raised by my white mom, so even characters like mulan were good, but not fully relatable to me. i was addicted to murder mysteries as a teen, and i think i would have really loved elementary, and lucy liu’s character would have been so refreshing for me (and still is)! like i know it’s a cheesy thing to say, but it is really so true that representation in media can totally change someone’s self esteem. every little thing helps.
i don’t think that anyone should be afraid to write female characters! i just think it helps to stop thinking of them as “female characters” and think of them instead as “characters”. i feel like moffat’s thing is that he sees only two types of women, and sees his female characters as women first, characters second. :\

ONE OF THESE THINGS IS NOT LIKE THE OTHER THINGS, ONE OF THESE THINGS JUST DOESN’T BELONG
That’s right, I don’t care who I offend, I’m coming out and saying it. Since when does Watson have a moustache?

What is this

disgusting thing

doing on Watson’s lip?
hold up
“‘He was a middle-sized, strongly built man- square jaw, thick neck, moustache, a mask over his eyes.’
“‘That’s rather vague,’ said Sherlock Holmes. ‘Why, it might be a description of Watson.’”
